Inviting Geneva's Citizens to Discover Innovation in Mobility
Ever been curious to board an autonomous bus shuttle? Passersby did just that at our “Innovation in mobility” discovery day, co-organized with TPG. Explore the insights and bright ideas from the event.
As a part of Open Geneva’s Open Innovation Festival in March 2024, Open Geneva and TPG co-organized a discovery day at the TPG depot in Geneva featuring the autonomous shuttle to promote innovation in mobility among Geneva's citizens. Passersby had the opportunity to board the shuttle, learn about the ULTIMO project, and engage in conversations with TPG and Open Geneva representatives.
To spark ideas and discussions, three engaging activities were proposed:
1. Interactive map and shuttle robots
A fun activity, featuring a map and shuttle robots, engaged the youngest visitors and deepened their understanding of autonomous shuttle technology through interactive play and gamification.
2. Collaborative poster with dot-voting
Inside the shuttle, visitors explored potential uses. A large poster showed ideas from past citizen workshops hosted by Open Geneva. Visitors voted for their favorite, with 24/7 availability being the most popular idea.
3. Complete the sentence activity
Finally, visitors could share their ideas about the use of the shuttle, by completing the sentence: "In this shuttle, it would be possible to..." The proposed ideas focused on safety, vehicle features, and improved access to information.
